Ingredients

  • Ziti Pasta: ½ pound (225g)
  • Cream Cheese: 2 ounces, softened
  • Ricotta Cheese: ¼ cup
  • Mozzarella Cheese: ¼ cup, grated
  • Italian Cheese Blend: ½ cup, grated
  • All-Purpose Flour: 1 cup
  • Large Eggs: 3, beaten
  • Breadcrumbs: 1 cup
  • Vegetable or Canola Oil: For frying

Instructions

  • Cook ziti pasta until al dente; rinse under cold water and set aside.
  • Combine cream cheese, ricotta, mozzarella, and Italian cheese blend in a bowl until smooth.
  • Fill each piece of pasta with the cheese mixture using a piping bag.
  • Set up a dredging station with flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs. Coat each filled ziti in this order.
  • Freeze breaded ziti for 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil to 350°F and fry ziti in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown.
  • Drain on paper towels and serve hot with marinara sauce.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, bake the breaded ziti for 2 minutes under the broiler after frying.
