Ingredients
- Ziti Pasta: ½ pound (225g)
- Cream Cheese: 2 ounces, softened
- Ricotta Cheese: ¼ cup
- Mozzarella Cheese: ¼ cup, grated
- Italian Cheese Blend: ½ cup, grated
- All-Purpose Flour: 1 cup
- Large Eggs: 3, beaten
- Breadcrumbs: 1 cup
- Vegetable or Canola Oil: For frying
Instructions
- Cook ziti pasta until al dente; rinse under cold water and set aside.
- Combine cream cheese, ricotta, mozzarella, and Italian cheese blend in a bowl until smooth.
- Fill each piece of pasta with the cheese mixture using a piping bag.
- Set up a dredging station with flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs. Coat each filled ziti in this order.
- Freeze breaded ziti for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil to 350°F and fry ziti in batches for 2–3 minutes until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot with marinara sauce.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, bake the breaded ziti for 2 minutes under the broiler after frying.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze before frying for up to 3 months.
