- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/4 cup yellow onion, chopped

- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- Chopped parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Bread
- Slice the Italian bread lengthwise into halves.
- Mix the softened butter with garlic salt and spread it evenly on the cut sides of the bread.
- Cook the Beef Mixture
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onions until the beef is browned and no longer pink. Drain the excess grease.
- Add garlic powder, yellow mustard, ketchup, kosher salt, black pepper, and water to the skillet. Mix well and let it simmer for a few minutes until thickened.
- Assemble the Sloppy Joes
- Divide the sloppy joe mixture evenly between the two halves of the prepared bread.
- Top each half with shredded mozzarella and sharp cheddar cheese.
- Bake
- Place the assembled bread halves on the lined baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
- Garnish and Serve
- Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley.
- Slice and serve hot.
