Description

Soft, chewy red velvet cookies rolled in sanding sugar and topped with a Hershey’s Kiss. A festive and easy holiday cookie!


Ingredients

  • 7 tablespoons butter (softened)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • ¼ teaspoon red food coloring gel
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup red sanding sugar
  • 18 Hershey’s chocolate kisses

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a baking sheet.
  • Cream butter and sugars until smooth. Add vanilla, egg yolk, and food coloring.
  • Mix in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  • Roll dough into 18 balls, coat in sanding sugar, and place on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, then press a Hershey’s Kiss into each cookie. Let cool before serving.

Keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to 7 days. Freeze for longer storage
