Description

Elegant, golden, and creamy Garlic Parmesan Duchess Potatoes are the perfect side dish for holidays or special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 2 ½ lbs Yukon gold potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 tbsp salt (for boiling)
  • 6 tbsp butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 34 tbsp half and half
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, finely shredded
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
  • Minced parsley (optional, for garnish)
  • Grated Parmesan (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Boil Potatoes: Peel and dice potatoes. Boil in salted water for 15–20 minutes until tender. Drain well.
  • Sauté Garlic: Melt 4 tbsp butter in a small saucepan, sauté garlic until golden. Add 3 tbsp half and half, then set aside.
  • Mash Potatoes: Mash boiled potatoes or use a potato ricer until smooth.
  • Mix Ingredients: Stir in Parmesan, garlic-butter mixture, and season with salt and pepper.
  • Add Yolks: Let cool slightly, then mix in egg yolks one at a time. Add extra half and half if needed for consistency.
  • Pipe Potatoes: Preheat oven to 425°F. Pipe mounds of the potato mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Bake: Brush with melted butter and bake for 16–19 minutes until golden.
  • Serve: Garnish with parsley and Parmesan, if desired

Notes

  • Drain potatoes thoroughly to prevent watery texture.
  • Use a large star tip for piping for the signature Duchess potato look.
