  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients: Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Cream Butter and Sugar: Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  • Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Alternately add flour mixture and buttermilk to the creamed mixture, starting and ending with the flour mixture. Fold in mashed bananas.
  • Bake: Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool completely.
  • Make Frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter together until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla, beating until creamy.
  • Frost Cake: Once the cake is completely cooled, spread the frosting evenly over the top. Serve and enjoy.
