Crispy Chilli Chicken is a quick and easy recipe that’s packed with bold flavors. The double-fried chicken stays crispy, while the sticky sweet and spicy sauce adds the perfect finishing touch. It’s a versatile dish that’s perfect for weeknight dinners or entertaining guests.


Ingredients

  • 300 g chicken breast (sliced)
  • 100 g cornflour
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp garlic and ginger paste
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp white pepper
  • 3 tbsp dark soy sauce (for sauce)
  • 4 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 2 spring onions (chopped)

Instructions

  • Marinate chicken with soy sauce, garlic and ginger paste, sesame oil, sugar, and white pepper for 10 minutes.
  • Add egg white to the chicken, mix well, and coat with cornflour.
  • Heat oil to 180°C and fry chicken for 1-2 minutes, then fry again for 2-3 minutes for extra crispiness.
  • In a clean pan, sauté garlic and ginger paste, then stir in the sauce ingredients (soy sauce, honey, sriracha, lemon juice) until thickened.
  • Toss the crispy chicken in the sauce, garnish with spring onions, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra spice, increase sriracha or add red pepper flakes.
  • Double-frying ensures maximum crispiness.
