For the Meatballs:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Garlic Butter:
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ¼ tsp black pepper
For Assembly:
- 12 soft dinner rolls
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Additional parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Combine meatball ingredients, shape into 12 balls, and cook in a skillet until browned and cooked through (10-12 minutes).
- Mix garlic butter ingredients in a bowl.
- Hollow out rolls, brush insides with garlic butter, and add a spoonful of marinara, a meatball, and mozzarella.
- Place rolls in a baking dish, brush with remaining butter, and bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
