For the Sauce:
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/3 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1/8 teaspoon cracked red pepper flakes
For the Stir Fry:
- 2 (3-ounce) packages ramen noodles, seasoning packets discarded
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, divided
- 1 pound sirloin steak, sliced thin (1/4-inch thick)
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 1/2 cup water
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Make the sauce: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce and cornstarch. Add beef broth, honey, hoisin, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
- Cook the noodles: Boil ramen noodles for 2-3 minutes. Drain, rinse under cold water, and drizzle with sesame oil.
- Cook the steak: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season steak with salt and pepper, then sear for 3 minutes on one side. Stir and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove steak and drain grease.
- Steam the broccoli: Add remaining olive oil and broccoli to the skillet. Pour in 1/2 cup water, cover, and steam for 2 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Combine: Add the steak and noodles back into the skillet. Pour the sauce in and toss everything together. Cook for 1-2 minutes until warmed through and coated.
- Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use fresh broccoli for the best texture.
- For extra spice, add sriracha or chili garlic sauce.
