Ingredients

Scale

For the Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/3 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon cracked red pepper flakes

For the Stir Fry:

  • 2 (3-ounce) packages ramen noodles, seasoning packets discarded
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, divided
  • 1 pound sirloin steak, sliced thin (1/4-inch thick)
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make the sauce: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce and cornstarch. Add beef broth, honey, hoisin, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  2. Cook the noodles: Boil ramen noodles for 2-3 minutes. Drain, rinse under cold water, and drizzle with sesame oil.
  3. Cook the steak: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season steak with salt and pepper, then sear for 3 minutes on one side. Stir and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove steak and drain grease.
  4. Steam the broccoli: Add remaining olive oil and broccoli to the skillet. Pour in 1/2 cup water, cover, and steam for 2 minutes until tender-crisp.
  5. Combine: Add the steak and noodles back into the skillet. Pour the sauce in and toss everything together. Cook for 1-2 minutes until warmed through and coated.
  6. Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh broccoli for the best texture.
  • For extra spice, add sriracha or chili garlic sauce.
  • Slice the steak thin for tender results.
