Ingredients
Scale
- 1 T-bone steak (about 1-inch thick)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Optional: garlic powder, onion powder, or your favorite steak seasoning
Instructions
- Preparation:
- Remove the T-bone steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 20-30 minutes. This step is crucial for even cooking.
- Seasoning:
- Pat the steak dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture.
- Rub the steak on both sides with olive oil.
- Season generously with salt, pepper, and any additional seasonings you prefer.
- Preheat the Air Fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). This high temperature is essential for achieving a good sear on the steak.
- Cooking the Steak:
- Place the seasoned steak in the air fryer basket. Make sure it’s in a single layer and not touching the sides.
- Cook for about 7-10 minutes for medium-rare, or adjust the time according to your preferred level of doneness. Flip the steak halfway through the cooking time.
- Checking for Doneness:
- Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the steak. For medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of around 130-135°F (54-57°C).
- Resting:
- Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the air fryer and let it rest on a cutting board for about 5-10 minutes. Resting allows the juices to redistribute throughout the steak, making it more tender and flavorful.
- Serving:
- Slice against the grain and serve your air fry T-bone steak with your favorite sides.
